Laser Cutter Project

This was the object that I created with the laser cutter for this class. I used a purple acrylic and a transparent acrylic.  I modeled everything on Illustrator and than cut out each layer with the laser cutter. I then stacked and glued each layer with super glue to create the final product.

3D Printer Project

For my 3D printer project I worked with a group and we decided to create three different blocks that all fit together like a totem pole. We were trained on two type of printers, the Formlabs and the Makerbot so i decided to utilize both of them. I created the grey box with the Formlabs and the blue head with the Makerbot.

Final Project

For my final project in NMD200 i choose to make a stand for the katana I have back at home. There was a good amount of prototyping and changing of ideas to end up with a piece that was not only functional and served a purpose but was also aesthetically pleasing. To make this stand I made a 3D model and send it to 123D Make and created laser cuttable layers that could be assembled into a 3D dimensional figure. The piece is fully functional and will be used as a stand for hopefully many years to come.
